What Makes a Groovy Revolution Wedding Different?
There are plenty of wedding bands out there. Most of them play the same songs in the same order and call it a night. Groovy Revolution does something different.
We've spent years obsessing over what actually makes a wedding reception work - the pacing, the transitions, the moment the floor fills and stays full. Our sets are built around clever mash-ups and medleys that keep guests surprised and engaged, blending decades of music so seamlessly that nobody's left waiting for their song.
The Stage described our medleys as "fiendishly clever segued items." We've never stopped trying to live up to that.
We're a proper five-piece band - vocalist, guitar, keys, bass and drums - with the option to add a sixth member on saxophone. We bring full professional PA and stage lighting to every performance. From intimate barns to grand ballrooms, we tailor everything to your venue, your crowd, and your vision for the evening.
The result? A reception where the dancefloor never empties, your guests talk about the band for years, and you spend the night exactly where you should be - right in the middle of it all.

Our setlist spans the 1960s to the present day - from the Jackson 5 to Maroon 5, Motown to modern pop, soul classics to indie anthems. We're not precious about genre, and your guests won't be either.

Common Questions
Q: How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 12–18 months ahead, especially for peak wedding dates (Friday and Saturday evenings between May and October). That said, we do sometimes have availability at shorter notice - it's always worth getting in touch to check.
Q: Can you learn our first dance song?
A: In many cases, yes. We've learned custom first dance songs for couples plenty of times - including tracks that aren't in our standard repertoire. Get in touch with the song you have in mind and we'll let you know if it's something we can do.
Q: Do you have public liability insurance and PAT-tested equipment?
Yes to both. We carry full public liability insurance and all our equipment is PAT-tested. Most venues require this, and we're well used to providing the necessary documentation.
Q: How long do you play for?
Our standard performance is two live sets of approximately 60 minutes each, with DJ music between sets so the atmosphere never drops. We can also provide live music earlier in the day - our acoustic trio is perfect for this. Get in touch if you want more details on a full day of live music.
Q: We're not in Manchester or Cheshire — can you still perform at our wedding?
Absolutely. While we're based in Didsbury and perform most often across the North West, we take on weddings across the UK. Travel and accommodation costs may apply depending on location - just get in touch and we'll talk through what's involved.
